MIT Sloan Blockchain Technologies: Business Innovation and Application

Mark Kowal’s law practice centers on corporate transactions and corporate governance, with an emphasis on securities law, mergers and acquisitions, securitization and structured finance, and corporate finance.  In a legal career spanning four decades, most of it in private practice, he has represented buyers, sellers, issuers, underwriters, lenders, borrowers, investors, investment managers and entrepreneurs in a wide variety of public and private deals.

Before joining Ross Law Group in 2019, Mark was the general counsel of the New York office of Hinduja Group, a family office with interests in various sectors around the world, including manufacturing, banking, and healthcare.

Mark was a partner at Sidley Austin LLP in the Securitization group in New York for over ten years.  Before ascending to the partnership at Sidley Austin, Mark was an associate at the firm and also at Fried Frank Harris Shriver & Jacobson LLP.

Mark is an active member of the American Bar Association and the New York City Bar Association. He has served on ABA drafting committees preparing numerous comment letters to the SEC and other federal agencies on regulations adopted in the wake of the financial crisis.

Before attending law school, Mark worked as a licensed professional engineer for an engineering/environmental consulting firm.
